Russia, Target Market for Iranian Exporters

A meeting was held among the delegates of public and private sectors by Trade Promotion Organization of Iran to discuss the latest status of Iran and Russia cooperation.

Ms Sepideh Akbarpour, the coordinator of Russia affairs, referred to the 16% increase in export values of Iran (in dollars) during the last four months of the current year compared to last year and measures taken to promote the cooperation of the two countries, and told:

tourism, medicine and medical equipment, agricultural and dairy products, aquatic animals, foodstuffs, detergents, paints and resin, adhesives, petrochemicals, copper, cement, shoes and clothes, leather goods, knowledge-based products, furniture, tiles, ceramics, etc. are among Persian exportable goods.

She also announced the future plans including setting up Iran's pavilion in International Food Exhibition and organizing Commercial & Industrial Committees together with Russia.

Russia sent 21906 visitors to Iran in 2015 and has been ranked 18th in Iran among 50 tourist sending countries.

Russia's MITT Exhibition was held in March 2017 in which Nadia Parvaz, an Iranian travel agency and the member of Iran Tour Operators Association, participated. Up to now this exhibition has been held for 24 times and Iran has participated only in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

After the joint program was signed between Iran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization and Russia Federal Agency for Tourism, a meeting was held on 17 June 2017 in which Zahra Ahmadipour, the former Vice President and the head of Iran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, Morteza Rahmani Movahed, the former deputy head of tourism, Ebrahim Pourfaraj, the head of Iran Tour Operators Association, and the directors or delegates of Iranian travel agencies actively involved in Russia affairs to decide upon the implementation of the program. The following were participants in the meeting:

Pasargad Tours, Rastin Tours, Ghoghnos, Deltaban, Nadia Parvaz, Persia Gasht, Shokouh Iranian, Ariana Mehrebaran, Safarafarin Gharn, Persia Safar, Setareh Haft Ganj, Marcopolo.

Iran Tour Operators Association will host the executive director of Association of Tour Operators of Russia to hold an Iran Fam tour in October 2017.
